When it comes to standing up to oppression, racism, patriarchy, and authoritarianism, every traveler’s voice counts.
Now more than ever, being informed and intentional about those choices is essential.
Around the world, far-right extremism is spreading, fueled by powerful men and billionaires pushing ideologies that threaten human rights and global democracy. We’re witnessing a surge in anti-women, anti-DEI, anti-immigrant, and anti-trans policies, along with Christian Nationalism, techno-fascism, and attacks on attacks on freedom of speech, reproductive rights, and diversity. Our basic freedoms are under assault.
In the United States, a fascist regime led by a dictator mirroring Hitler and backed by Christian Nationalists, white supremacists and tech billionaires is reshaping society in deeply dangerous ways — and those threats don’t stop at America’s borders. Similar far-right movements are rising in Europe, Canada, and beyond.
History shows us what happens when religion and government intertwine: the loss of rights, persecution of minorities, widespread hatred, and the eventual collapse of free societies.
The Biggest Threat In America Is White Supremacy & Christian Nationalism
Christian Nationalism, white supremacists, and the dystopian ambitions from tech billionaires have long been downplayed – largely because the perpetrators are white men. Their plans and goals have also sounded too extreme to believe because they are so horrific. I once thought the same.
Even Project 2025 – Trump and the Republican Party roadmap for authoritarian control – once seemed too nightmarish to take seriously. Yet nearly half of its 900-page dominionist-meets-techno-fascist blueprint has already been implemented with minimal pushback beyond a few courageous Democratic Governors. When complete America will be a third world country mirroring Nazi Germany and Gilead (Handmaid’s Tale).
The truth is, everything I’ve researched—from Christian Nationalists ‘Seven Mountain Mandate’ to Curtis Yarvin and Peter Thiel’s techno-dystopian goals —isn’t just speculation. It’s happening now. And most Americans remain unaware. That’s deliberate. Authoritarian regimes depend on ignorance, distraction and polarization to consolidate power. They can only succeed fully when the people do not know what they are doing.
This transformation has been unfolding for over forty years—slowly enough that many people haven’t noticed it. But it could already be taking shape where you live too.
