Travel isnโt just about ticking off bucket list destinations. Itโs about choosing the kind of world we want to live in by using our money and time as a powerful tool to support or oppose the systems, policies, and values we believe in.
Thatโs why thereโs a politics section on this solo travel blog. Whether you realize it or not, every trip that you take is a political act. That’s because, as you and I choose where we want to visit, as we spend our money and precious time in a place, when we share our stories and photos, we are not just supporting that destination. We are also financially, physically, and energetically supporting the systems, policies, values, and government of that place.
Travel can be a very powerful way to vote with your passport, your money, and your principles – especially when it’s done as a mass movement. When it comes to fighting oppression, racism, patriarchy, and authoritarianism, every single person’s voice counts.
Itโs more important than ever to stay informed and intentional.
Right now, we have been watching in real time as far-right extremism grows around the world, supported by dangerous men with far too much power and influence behind their beliefs and goals, which will harm millions globally. We’ve been witnessing a rise of not just far-right politics but also a rapid rise in anti-women, anti-DEI, anti-immigrant, anti-trans policies, Christian Nationalism, techno-fascism, and serious threats to both democracy and everyone’s freedom. While America is currently being governed by a Fascist dictator and a regime made up of Techno-Fascists, Christian Nationalists, and White Supremacists, the threats to all of us are not limited to just America.
History offers many, many examples of the catastrophic consequences when religion and government are intertwined, including widespread conflict, the suppression of rights, the increase of widespread hatred, and violence against minority groups and women.
That unrest always ends in complete chaos and failure of that society.
Christian Nationalism, tech billionaires with dystopian goals, a Republican party full of sexual abusers, pedophiles, criminals, and extremists with their dangerous dystopian plans, have continuously been overlooked or downplayed because 1) It’s white men rather than colored people doing the bad things and 2) Most of their plans are so horrific and ‘out there’ that its hard not to just dismiss them as just “woke consipiracies” or the “libtards being alarmist”. At first, I too dismissed many things as being way too far-fetched to believe.
Even Project 2025, despite it clearly being Trump’s agenda when compared with his campaign agenda, was so horrific, third-world country status loading, that it was hard to envision it really happening. And yet, a huge chunk of that 900-page dystopian dominionists meets techno-facists plan has already been implemented with an astounding lack of pushback from any Democrats except a couple of Governors with some backbone.
The harsh reality is that everything I’ve read about, including Yarvin and Thiel’s grand dystopian plans, is not just real, but they are actually happening in real time at an alarming rate. Worse yet, most Americans are completely unaware of any of it…which is the point. The Republicans and the Billionaires know that if Americans learn about what’s really going on and fight back against them rather than amongst themselves, their lives get a lot harder. Authoritarian regimes and religious extremists can only succeed when the people do not know what they are doing.
In America this has been slowly creeping in for more than 40 years.
It moves slow enough that you don’t even notice it.
So it could already be happening where you live, but the signs haven’t been showing yet.
So this space on the blog is dedicated to educating and exploring the intersections between travel, politics, human rights, civil rights, and justice, to empower us all to make conscious choices and take decisive actions that align with the future we envision for the world.
I believe that we all have an innate responsibility, whether we live in the U.S. or not, to stay educated on every bad thing that they do, and fight back in whatever ways we can.

Authoritarianism
โThe road to Fascism is lined with those telling you to stop overreacting.โ

GOP Extremism
Every republican accusation is a confession.
They have already stated that they want a theocracy.
Anyone who does not think the handmaids tale is not descriptive of republican control is either a liar or delusional

Christian Nationalists & White Supremacy
There is no hate like Christian Love
“When fascism comes to America, it won’t be wearing jackboots. It will be wrapped in the stars and stripes and carrying a Bible.”
George Carlin

Billionaires & The Techno-Fascist Agenda

Women’s Rights
August 26th, 1920 the 19th Amendment became law prohibiting denying the right to vote based on sex. Now, 105 years later the Republican Party wants to repeal the 19th Amendment and stop women from voting.
Women registered to vote in America are 51% Dems/ 44% Republican.
You can stop guessing their motivation now.
They waited 50 years to get Roe vs Wade overturned.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them!
